multiverse tutorial

1. video(game)

5 stars

In order to create this video, I used three primary programs. The first is The Sims 4. I recorded footage using the in-game recording feature. Because this saves as a .avi file, I then used VLC media player to convert it to the standard .mp4 format. After this, I edited the clips in Adobe Premiere Rush, which is a free program. Finally, I added music. I chose the song Running Up That Hill, by Kate Bush, due to the song’s recent resurgence in popularity as it was featured in the new season of Stranger Things, and being a huge fan of her (I used one of her music videos in a post, just days before the season came out). I also feel like it fit the story. I shorted the playtime down to the length of the video, while also making sure the end and start times worked well and didn’t seem awkward.

2. pinterest moodboard

3 stars

This one is pretty straightforward. If you don’t already have one, make a Pinterest account, and create a new board. You can add things by search results, or pins that the site algorithmically suggests to you. Both can be pretty useful in curating your board. If you don’t like the layout you can also rearrange your board.

3. mixtape

4 stars

This is once again pretty straightforward. Create a playlist on Spotify or any music platform of your choice (you can even use YouTube). Make sure to give it a unique title and if it is an option on the given platform, upload a photo for the cover of the playlist.

4. video thumbnail

4 stars

I used Illustrator to create a YouTube thumbnail for the video in the first tutorial. I created a 1280×720 artboard in the program, and then added a photo I took in The Sims 4 that I put a filter on in Lightroom. I then followed this tutorial to get the text effect:

5. downloadable sims 4 content

5 stars

This is also somewhat straightforward but requires you to have The Sims 4 on your computer and have an online account. After meticulously creating your household of Sims and saving it to your library, you can upload it to the public gallery.
